FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Are there extra charges for laundry care, housekeeping, or special dietary restrictions?
No. Longwood Manor provides weekly housekeeping and laundry service, more if needed. Likewise, our dietary staff is ready to prepare meals to our residents' specifications and needs.
- Are Therapy Services available at Longwood Manor?
Yes. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available. BHB Rehab provide in-house and outpatient therapy services to our residents and the surrounding community. We also welcome outside therapies to continue working with their patient, once they move in Longwood Manor.
- Does Longwood Manor provide transportation to medical appointments?
We encourage families and residents to schedule their appointments at their own convenience. However, a transportation and escort service is available, for a nominal fee. We will provide transportation as long as the resident does not require special transportation equipment.
- Does Longwood Manor have a Medical Director?
Yes. While we encourage residents to continue using their current family physician, we do have Dr. Patrick Gilhool of Elizabethtown Family Health Center as our Medical Director. We do not require physicians to visit our residence on a regular basis. We simply ask that they be available by telephone and fax.
- Do I have to use the Pharmacy at Longwood Manor?
No, our residents may choose any Pharmacy to provide their medications, as long as they follow the packaging requirements of Longwood Manor. Our Pharmacy Provider is Williams' Apothecary of Lancaster. This pharmacy accepts most insurance plans, they are available around the clock, and have very competitive rates.
